From the Pits of Despair

From the pits of despair my soul shall arise.
From the ash heaps of my past my soul shall arise.
My soul shall ascend from the depths of hell,
to tell all the people that all is well.
Though adversities come to sink my soul,
my anchor is sure and will uphold.

At times I thought that I'm truly done,
the enemy's triumphed, it appears he has won.
Yet from earth to heaven, I see that hill,
His hands stretched out, the blood that spilled.
The enemies head has been eternally crushed,
From ashes to ashes, from dust to dust.

Oh the depth and the sorrow of a lonely soul,
isolated from loved ones and feeling cold.
The feelings we feel like the depths of despair,
the feelings that no one sees, does anyone care.
Those feelings and thoughts that we choose to receive,
are birthed from the enemy and meant to deceive.
The fact of the matter which is truly true,
the words of our God do endure.

The words of our God will weather the storm,
The words of our God will bring with it calm.
The words of our God will shatter false hopes,
and secure us firmly by heavenly ropes.
The words of our God will withstand,
any devil or demon or the plans of man.
The words of our God make weak ones strong,
healing the feeble, making right what's wrong.

So from the pits of despair my soul shall arise.
From the ash heaps of my past my soul shall arise.
My soul shall ascend from the depths of hell,
To tell all the people that all is well.
Though adversities come to sink my soul,
my anchor is sure and will uphold.

Oops, sorry Rodney, apparently I joined your fan club forever ago. I hadn't remembered. Please forgive me. I don't have a very good memory. Teresa
