I See Them Walking.....

Deep in darkness locked away,
chains have en
slaved them day after day.
Troubles and torments regrets from the past,
how heavy the chains, how tight its grasp.
Longing for freedom these prisoners cry,
disguising their fears not wanting to die.
I see them walking with bravado and swagger,
old age will come, death like a hammer.
Darker and darker these prisoners slip,
lost at sea with no sail on a ship.
Locked away in their torment, there's no sight- they are blind,
Regretful memories, drives the them out of their minds.
I see them walking with bravado and swagger,
old age will come, death like a hammer.
They are blind so leave them, unwilling to hear,
feeding their hearts with anger and fear.
Their smiles are phony masking their past,
hurting continually, they feel first but are last.
I see them not walking no bravado, no swagger,
death came sudden, now their life doesn't matter.
