No One Seems Thankful

No one seems thankful we always complain,
concerned about sales and Thanksgiving parades.
We push and we push to get our own way,
forgetting the meaning of this special day.
Seldom we're thankful for all He has done,
complaining, complaining fills up our tongue.
Complaints of tomorrow, complaints of today,
complaining, complaining by the things that we say.
Complaints on the weather, it's too hot or too cold,
complaints about things not in our control.
Complaints of our sufferings, on how we were wronged,
complaints and complaints, that same ole song.
Complaints of tomorrow, complaints of today,
complaining, complaining by the things that we say.
Complaints of our portions, oh the turkey's too big,
it's all just a scam, or the game is just rigged.
Complaints at the work place, man I got too much work,
or the boss is a dummy, the boss is a jerk.
Complaints in the land endowed with free speech,
we have it so good, we betray what we preach.
Ungrateful, unthankful we quickly forget,
meaningful things we so swiftly neglect.
Complaints of tomorrow, complaints of today,
complaining, complaining by the things that we say.
So remember, be thankful from here on I pray,
Happy Thanksgiving on this solemn day.
Do all things without complaining or disputing ( Phil.2:14 )*
In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.( I Thess.5:18 )*

So is your poem. I proclaim, I am thankful! He has been faithful to me. Happy Thanksgiving Day to you! Thanks Avis, I'm glad you liked it.It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord.
okay rodney, now i know i have to stop saying "this poem is my favorite" because with each new poem comes an easiness to your words, a definite underlying flow, nothing is forced, and the ideals are important. i am so grateful i read the lost art of community policing, which made me continue to read probably the best poetry i ever have. you get better, and clearer, and more succinct with each poem, and that's not to put down any of the others, i loved them all and they were all good.i have over 650 articles, and i know i've had enough practice to be able to write better as a result, even though my old articles weren't bad.happy thanksgiving, and please keep writing,my best regards, sueThank you,I appreciate your comments and kind words.I wish you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving and your comments always encourage me to continue writing.
